Reporting to: Managing Partner.

Contract Type: Full-time Permanent.

 

Job Purpose

HLB Ireland, a distinguished business advisory and accountancy firm, is expanding, and we are in search of a highly capable Corporate Finance Manager to join our team. This role is specifically designed for an individual who is passionate about serving owner-managed businesses.

As a Corporate Finance Manager, you will lead and manage the execution of corporate finance engagements and projects, with a primary focus on providing expert financial advice and strategic solutions tailored to the unique needs of clients.

 

Key Result Areas

  • Client Focus: Manage the completion of corporate finance engagements/projects, emphasising M&A buy-side and sell-side advisory, valuations, strategic advisory, debt and equity fundraising, financial modelling, and the preparation of business plans and Independent Business Reviews (IBRs) with a specialised focus on owner-managed businesses.
  • Strategic Consultation: Proactively and reactively provide consultative advice to clients and Partners on specific projects, ensuring timely delivery within agreed time frames.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with Partners and referral sources to originate new business opportunities, actively develop and maintain relationships, and key intermediaries, contributing to the growth of portfolios.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage project teams to ensure high-quality client service delivery within specified timeframes, demonstrating an in-depth understanding of the unique challenges.
  • Compliance and Administration: Ensure all client files are administered, maintained, and accurately filed in line with the firm’s policies, with a keen focus on compliance with authority levels and regulations.
  • Financial Management: Proactively manage WIP/Debtor Ledger in alignment with the firm’s policies, maintaining financial discipline in client engagements.
  • Training and Development: Actively participating in the day-to-day training and development initiatives, fostering a supportive learning environment.

 

Person Specification

Key skills and experience required

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification with 3-5+ PQE.
  • Previous experience in a corporate finance role in a professional practice or industry, with a focus on owner-managed businesses.
  • Highly skilled in financial analysis and financial modelling.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven project management skills and experience managing multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
  • Commercially savvy with an analytical mindset.
