Position: Audit Associate Director.

Reporting to: Audit Partner.

Location: Sandyford, Dublin 18.

Contract Type: Full-time Permanent.

 

Job Purpose

HLB Ireland, a leading accountancy and advisory firm, is continually expanding, and we are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our team.

The successful candidate will work in our Audit department and be responsible for managing key client relationships and ensuring high-quality service delivery, leading audit engagements for a diverse client base locally and globally and playing a pivotal role in team management and development.

 

Key Result Areas

  • Project Management: Efficiently managing a diverse and extensive client portfolio, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • Quality Audit Oversight: Ensuring high-quality audit work across client engagements, maintaining excellence and compliance with standards.
  • Client Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their service needs and satisfaction are met.
  • Team Supervision and Training: Supervising and training junior team members to adhere to high standards throughout the audit process.
  • Business Development: Leading initiatives to win new business, including identifying opportunities, cross-selling services and managing tender processes.
  • Technical Guidance: Providing strong technical guidance to ensure quality audit delivery within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • Strategic Planning: Contributing to strategic planning within the business unit and participating in firm-wide initiatives for overall growth and direction.

 

Person Specification

Key skills and experience required

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification with 4+ years PQE.
  • Experience within audit teams, preferably in a Big 4 or a Top 10 firm in Ireland.
  • Strong skills in Irish GAAP, auditing standards and IFRS.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability in team leadership and managing multiple assignments.
  • Ability to collaborate across various functions within the firm and demonstrate effective teamwork skills.
