Job Description

The role is an exciting and challenging one that will allow the candidate to become involved in managing a diverse client portfolio and providing a responsive, proactive and professional accounting and tax services. The firms partners are also keen to recruit a candidate who can contribute to the development of their firm.


Major Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Manage a large portfolio of SME clients which will include being the principal contact and co-ordination point for the delivery of accounting and tax compliance services including:
    • preparation of financial statements [non-audit]
    • corporate tax compliance
    • company secretarial compliance
    • Payroll
    • VAT
  • Manage and oversee workflow for staff in the non-audit department
  • Provide high level technical support to staff and clients.
  • Review of outputs/files and Financial Statements in advance of issue
  • Work with existing clients to develop new business opportunities.
  • Identify and market additional service offerings to existing clients.
  • Responsible for working to deadlines and within budgets on all assignments
  • Assist with Income tax compliance to include preparation of accounts, preparation of Income tax returns (Form11), liaising with clients and filing of returns
  • Participate in and drive the learning, development and training all staff
  • Participate in the review of staff performance
  • Enhance and promote services we provide to our clients
  • Work closely with the management team to assist in the growth and expansion of the firm’s client base


Requirements & Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:


  • Qualified ACA or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years PQE practice experience.
  • Experienced in the application of Accounting standards, in particular FRS102
  • Experienced with different tax heads including: Corporation Tax, PAYE, VAT and other
  • Detail oriented with a strong level of accuracy in all aspects of accountancy including file preparation, financial reporting and communication.
  • Experience in managing staff
  • Experience with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Relate, Surf and/or other similar products
  • High degree of computer literacy, including extensive knowledge in Microsoft Office and accounting software


  • Experience with multi-company businesses.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual
  • Experience in expanding, fast growing organisations.
  • Ability to multi-task and set daily, weekly and monthly priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Company Secretarial compliance
